The government will buy eggs at the NECC prices for schools

Indian Government has decided to buy eggs at the prices announced by NECC for schools.

Previously prime minister had announced to include eggs in the mid-day meals for students. It was announced under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman scheme.

For those students who do not eat eggs due to religious reasons, bananas will be provided by the government under this scheme.

Over almost 1.12 crore students will be the beneficiaries of the mid-day meal plan scheme. Students will be served an egg on Fridays or Wednesdays for all 23 weeks of the school year.
