Fluctuating egg rates a cause for concern for poultry farmers

Poultry farmers have expressed dissatisfaction and anxiety over the fluctuating egg rates and prices. During the months of March-April egg prices usually decrease due to a decrease in demand due to rising temperatures.
Currently, the egg price is lowest in Hyderabad where the egg price is just 395 Rs per 100 eggs and it is highest in Lucknow where it is 483 Rs, per 100 eggs.
Low egg prices leave poultry farmers scrambling to meet expenses. One egg costs Rs, 4.5 to produce and the low price makes it somewhat difficult for farmers to gain any profit.
Each year during this year egg prices usually experience a fall but it was projected that this year might be different, and egg prices will remain stable, but that was not the case as prices have continued to fall and have not risen again.
Production cost of egg is four and half rupees. These rates decrease with increasing temperature. Productivity costs are not even compensated. Now the rate is 5 rupees per piece i.e. 500 rupees per hundred. Earlier this rate was Rs.550. However, it has to be said that the rates are satisfactory to some extent. It is not possible to tell how the situation will continue.

Farmers are optimistic that demand will rise again and the price will see an escalation in prices again. But with the current prices being so low it seems like a pipe dream.
