Bengaluru Woman loses money when trying to buy eggs online

One has to be always vigilant when trying to do online shopping as it is rife with scams nowadays. There is a certain due diligence required on the user end and if you are not capable of that it is better to just shop in person.

A Bengaluru woman, a resident of Vasant nagar reportedly lost money when trying to buy eggs online. According to sources a woman in Bengaluru was scammed for trying to buy 4 dozens of eggs online for only Rs 49.

“There was a shopping link mentioned in the ad. When I clicked on the same, it took me to a page where there was a description of how hens were reared and the eggs collected and delivered,” Shivani explained.

She clicked on it, taking her to a page where there were many offers related to eggs. She chose one and bought 4 dozen eggs for only Rs 49. But she was shocked to find out that her card was charged for a transaction of 48000 Rs.

A staggering 48199, had been debited from her card. The whole amount was transferred to the “Shine Mobile HU” account. She then called her bank’s fraud department and lodged a formal complaint. Upon which they blocked her card and account.

She said that the bank was looking into resolving this matter. She also lodged an FIR against the culprits in the nearest police station. An investigation is underway in this matter.
